About the blog and goodbye :)

Hi today i will write for the last time on my blog, at least for that semester. I’m finishing my pre-intermediate English subject.

I think that this blog was the first time that I wrote about my life, and it was a bit difficult at the beginning. Also I was not accustomed to write in English all the weeks.

I learn a lot about writhing, that was difficult to me at the beginning but whit the time become easier to me write more about more complex topics without problems.

Sincerely I don’t think that I will use the blog again because usually I do not have time with the university and in the holidays I will sleep the three weeks.

I don’t think that something was bad with the blogs. I have problems writhing about certain topics because I don’t know too much about them like some things of my career or recycling.

I think that another good topics form blogs could be for example our friends, the music we like, what we think about learning English and how can it be useful to us.

Finally I want to say goodbye to my classmates for this semester, I enjoyed reading some interest things in your blogs and I hope that you also enjoyed reading mine. 

HI, today I will talk about the recycling and the 3 Rs, reuse, reduce and recycle.

I had listen about recycle and reuse before but I listen about reduce for the first time doing this blog.

I thing that is really important follow the three Rs, I usually try to reduce but I don’t usually recycle or reuse.

Recycle it’s a bit difficult in our country because does not exist a recycling system, maybe if we have one we all would recycle more.

I think that recycle it’s and the environmental problems in general are really important but they are not just individual problems. All the society must take care about the planet and that include some company and some countries that are not interested in to that.

We must have more strict regulations about the environmental problems and we all have to take conscience and follow that rules and recycle.

I want to play the piano

Hi classmates, today I will talk about some things that I’d like to learn.

Something that I’d like to learn is learn to play the piano. I have an electric keyboard in my home and I try to learn to play it in two times. The first time that I decide to learn was three years ago. I practiced a lot for a week and I was able to play a song but I got really sick and when I got better I left it.

The second time was four months ago. I tried to learn to play piano again at the end of the holydays. Fist I had a lot of problems to got a transformer for the keyboard because the old one was lost. When I finally got the correct transformer I practiced a few days and I did not practice anymore when I became to come to the university.

I really like the piano music and I hope to could finally learn to play it. I think that when I have money I will take classes, because I’m not very constant when I’m doing something by my own. I saw some places where I could take classes at the beginning of the year so I will try to take the classes in the next holidays.

Excercise

This blog is from two weeks ago, I do not make it so I have to do it now. It has to be about a free topic.

I will talk about my experience with sports. When I was a child I was a very lazy boy. I did not make any sport when I was a child.

It changes when I move to live to Santiago and I get a friend that motivates me to do something with my life.

The first thing related to sports that I did was begin to go to train the Sundays in a fireman’s company.

After that in 2011 I began to do parkour. I do not make it for too much time but doing it I get a lot of confidence.

Since that I have done other things like running and aerial silk.

Nowadays I try to always be doing some exercise but I almost do not have time because of the University. I hope to could be organized with my time to restart doing some exercise for my health and to don’t get fat 

The Sociological Imagination

Today’s blog is about my presentation of the next week. I have to choose something related with sociology. It was a little difficult because I have been just two months in the career.
I finally decided to talk about C. Wright Mills and more specifically about his book The Sociological Imagination.
I chose it because in his book he talks about the sociological imagination, an ability that is fundamental to be a good sociologist.
I will begin talking about C. Wright Mills. First I will talk about his life and after that I will talk about his work.
Before that I will talk about his book The Sociological Imagination, describing the context of the publication and talking about why is an important book to read for a first year sociology student.
To do this work I will have to read again the text and learn more about it because I read it at the beginning of the year and I think that I will understand it better now.
I hope to do a good job and learn more about my career doing it.

In this blog I have to talk about my ambitions. I think that right now I am focus in two aspects of my life, my relationship and my career.

I will write about the second one because the first one is most personal and I think that is more difficult to put in words.

I decided to study sociology with the objective of be one of the better ones, I do not want to just get my career and work all my life. I want to still studying and could make investigation.

I think that my principal motivation is the wish of know more and could create knowledge. That motivation was very important to choose my career, because sociology is very focus in investigation.

To fulfill it I will have to make a big effort but I think that it will absolutely worth it.

I think that fulfill my professional ambitions will make me love my job and will make that it will not be a weight in my life. In did I hope that my job will be the opposite, it will (with another things) make me happy.

My favorite piece of technology is my computer. I got it three years ago.

I bought my computer in a specialized store with money that I saved and with a little of money that my mother gave me. I got a lot of problems to assemble it and I almost broke it. Finally an expert helped me and everything was okay.

How I said before, I buy my computer three years ago. I use it almost every days to do a lot of things like read, play videogames, listen to music, watch movies, chat, surf in internet, study, make the university works, etcetera.

I like my computer because it is very fast and I could do everything on it without problems. When I bought it, I bought it to play videogames but nowadays I do not have time to do it. Besides I do not like the last computer games that appear. Maybe it is because I do not like the videogames anymore.

Another good thing about my computer is that I learned how to repair some things of the computers fixing it.

Young firefighters

I chose a picture of my fireman’s youth brigade, I don’t remeber who took this photo but it was surely a firefighter, maybe one of the instructors.

This picture have four years, it whas took in 2010, my first year in the brigade, the day that we had our internal competition. The brigade was divided in two teams leaded by the lieutenants.

It was my first competition, and the first that I win.

I like this photo because apears people that still being my friends and the most of they  nowdays are firefighters like I hope to be at the end of this year.

The picture is also a little nostalgic because my birthday will be the next month, and when I birth 18 I can not be in the brigade anymore.

Anyway how I said before, this year I hope to become a firfighter this year. In the second semester I will have to do the necessary training but it will worth it. J

San valentine's day in Valparaiso

Hi readers, today I will write about the travel that I did with my girlfriend to Valparaíso the last san valentine's day.
It was an improvised travel, we decided to go the previus day and we just bought the tickets.
At the next day we went to the bus terminal at the nine o'clock and we slept all the way. When we arrived to Valparaíso we went to the hills and we visited the Pablo Neruda's House, it was beatifull and was full of extrange objects from all the world.

After that we went to the Sotomayor Square and we looked for a restaurant. Finally we found a very good place to ate close to the square.
When we finished we went to the beach in Viña del Mar.When it began to be cold we came back to Valparaíso and we bought sandwichs and coffee to ate meanwhile we waited for the bus to Santaigo.
It was a great travel because Valparaíso is a beautiful city and my girlfriend really love it so she was very happy. We enjoyed a lot :) .

Welecome, my name is Gabriel Sotomayor, I'm studying Sociology and I have to do this blog for my english class. I live in Santiago from Chile since 2009, before I lived in La Serena, Viña del Mar and Algarrobo. Nowdays I'm in the first year of my carrer. I finish the secundary the last year and I want to study sociology since 2012. 

I like to read, sometimes to do excercise and obviously be with my friends and my girlfriend.

I don't like the nowdays social order, and I think that we all have to organize our selves to change it. I also don't like some trivial things like the dogs, the grecia avenue and the online videogames.

I don't konw what is the purpose of this blog but I think that i will have to put my english works here.
